You may have noticed I've been absent from the blog lately. We've had a massively busy few months and April will continue the craziness. Back on March 1st I submitted a manuscript to my publisher for a book on tactical fly fishing. As long as the rest of the process goes as planned, it will debut at the Denver Fly Fishing Show in January 2019. I'll share more details down the road as they become available. A couple of weeks later we started the process of moving. We're still organizing and unpacking but at least the main hassle of the move is over with. We have a little bit more inventory space now so we can continue to add to the shop.
Speaking of new inventory, I've just added a swath of new flies from Kiefer Stumpp, Jordan McHugh, Christophe de Pastor, Fulling Mill, and Umpqua. I have a bunch more to add, including my Front-End Loader Caddis which is now available from Umpqua. I'm waiting on some more storage containers to arrive so I can add the rest to the site. You can check out all of our flies at this link and look under the custom flies, Fulling Mill, or Umpqua categories for the new additions.
As we move into April I have some exciting news and several competitions coming up.
I will be doing an on the water clinic and classroom workshops as well as a fly tying session at the Wasatch Fly Tying and Fly Fishing Expo in Sandy, UT April 5-7th. The on the water clinic is nearly full at this point but there is still space in the classroom workshops. You can sign up at this link.
I will be fishing in the Casting For Hope Tournament in North Carolina again April 13-15th. Casting For Hope is a non-profit that helps women fighting gynecological cancers. This year I am participating in their pledge drive to help raise some extra money to assist in their work. You can help contribute by pledging money for each fish I, or the whole field, catches during the tournament. For some reference that will guide you on how much to pledge, I landed 196 fish in last year's tournament. To find out more about Casting For Hope and/or to make a pledge, please visit their website http://castingforhope.org/
The weekend after the Casting For Hope tournament I will be in State College, Pennsylvania for a Fly Fishing Team USA regional. Between the two tournaments I should have some helpful material to share with you on the blog.
Last but not least, Gilbert Rowley has been busting his butt to get the editing done on our new video Modern Nymphing Elevated: Beyond the Basics. We are in the final stages and plan to announce the release date and our screening premiere date next Monday April 2nd. I will say that it is just around the corner......
That's all for now. Thank you all for your continued support of Tacticalflyfisher.com and our family.
