Which Shoulder Should You Be Casting Over?

I recently fished with a friend of mine who is newer to Euro nymphing. On the section of river he fished, he was unsuccessful in several good looking holding lies when fishing the left bank of the river, while looking up stream. Around the corner, he landed 10 fish off the opposite side of the river in a run where I would have expected fewer fish. What was the difference? This angler could only cast over his right shoulder. This casting angle set him up poorly when fishing the left bank but correctly when fishing the right bank.

In this video, I dive into this topic a little more and explain how to set up the beginning of your drift by alternating the shoulder you cast over based on the side of the river you are fishing toward.
