Size 16 Heavy Wire Jig Hook

This is a big / strong size 16 hook for fly tying. The hook doesn’t bend when in the vise like most small lighter wire hooks.

Solid nymph hooks at a great price

I purchased a few packs of the 5240 and fished them this weekend. I was fishing a smaller river with a lot of underwater brush and fallen trees. The hooks are sharp and sticky. Even after fishing the size 16 with a 3.0 bead and hitting a few snags, the point remained sharp. It may have been my imagination but it seemed like these hooks were easier to get unsnagged when hitting underwater wood. My thought is that the wider gap allows the bead to drop a little farther than normal when positioning yourself above the snag and repeating the pull-drop action that Devin teaches in his second nymphing film. The hooks also set true and hold. I'll definitely be incorporating this hook in my tying more regularly. Solid nymph hook.

Quality Barbless Jig Hooks

These are outstanding quality hooks with a superior design. They make beautiful flies, are wicked sharp, and very strong. I have langed a number of large fish on them without any sign of stress. They are now my only jig hook.

Orientsun 5241 Hooks

I have the good fortune of fishing for rather large trout. These hooks penetrate beautifully and I have not had one bend on me. Furthermore, I have lost fewer fish on these hooks than with any other jig hook. I will buy some more.

Great Hook

This hook has similar geometry to Hanak Superb but $3 less. Have never bent or broken one on a fish but they do bend when snagged and abused which is expected. Have used them about a year now and can recommend them highly. Closest thing to a circle type hook in a nymph hook size 14-16 that I have found. Not sure they set any deeper per my testing but may improve hook ups with wider gap. Fast shipping and great customer service

Excellent Hooks

I have used these Orientsun hooks before and they are very sharp. For me the profile of my flies looks better and seems to track in the water more naturally. I know there are a ton of hooks on the market but these are a step up and the price is right.
