Frozen North Fly fishing Creeper Chenille

( 4 Reviews )

Creeper chenille is a great tool for tiers trying to addd some bulk and wiggle to their bugs. Perfect for imitating freshwater food items like crawdads and stoneflies or saltwater fare like crabs and shrimp, Creeper chenille can be employed on just about any streamer where the tier wants to add 'size' without adding much weight (i.e. intruders or marabous). The material is made of Lifeflex/Spanflex style 'legs' woven into a thin core of frizzy 'egg' style chenille. We've seen similar ideas before but few have gotten the core-to-legs ratio correct, FNF hit it on the head here. Most at home on hooks sz.10-2 Each bag contains approximately 2m of material.

Easy to work with and looks great. I used it for shrimp patterns.

Super buggy

This stuff is as buggy as it gets. Simply tied as a hackle-less bugger, this has already produced some quality trout for me. My only complaint is with the center material that resembles McFly Foam. It is very inconsistent in size which definitely transfers to the finished fly being noticeably thinner and thicker in different spots. Regardless, I have a feeling this will end up a regular material at my tying desk.
