I haven't fished these hooks yet however, if appearances mean anything, these hooks are beautiful and from other reviewers comments should perform as good as they look.

Pleasantly surprised

Value for the price is great, hold bigger fish quite well. I would love if there was a wide Gap available, but these are solid bang for the buck.

Claw point only way to go!

I have been using Fulling Mills for the last few years, very confident with these. I have tried some more expensive brands, however, I seem to always come back to these. Good quality, sharp, strong and ok price.

Great hooks, good price

I've been using Fulling MIlls jig hooks for years. I really like the design and the qualify is impeccable. They start out very sharp and hold their point well. Of course dragging them over rocky riverbeds will eventually dull them, but you can restore the point quickly with a diamond file or hook hone.

Fulling Mills Hooks

I've been using the Fulling Mills Jig and Gape hooks for less than a year. Don't know how they compare to the Hanek hooks but so far I have no complaints on the quality of Fulling Mills hooks. I've caught several fish in the 7-8 lb range and have yet to have a hook bend or break. This includes the size 18 jig and 16 Gape. Considering the price at $12.95 for 50, they are a great bargain and will continue to use them. The Gape hook has held up just as good. Size wise, the jig hook is about standard. A 14 Gape is like more like a 16 and the 16 more like an 18. They work well with short bodied flies with smaller beads as the length isn't very long. A larger bead takes away from the length of the body and fly profile. I've encountered no defects in the eyes and the points. The points are super sharp and hold up as well or better than any other hook I've used..Give them a try and I think you'll like them.

The opposite of bad

Love this hook! Can’t say enough good things about it and the price is right . Never had one open up or fail. The point is slightly beaked , protecting the hook point and keeping it sharp AF.
