I've recently been trying this newly available fluorocarbon from Fullingmill. I've been impressed with it's strength and abrasion resistance. It is available at a better cost per meter than most of the other better brands available and is definitely worth a try.

Here is what Fullingmill says about it.

The new Fulling Mill Masterclass Fluorocarbon has the lowest refractory index of any other fluoro on the market, making it the least visible in water to fish. It's also the densest allowing it to cut through the surface tension quicker than ever before. Masterclass has a superb Diameter to Strength ratio so you can rest assured that it's incredibly strong, ultra supple and has great knot strength. With interlocking spools and a tangle-free band, this revolutionary fluorocarbon will certainly help you catch more fish.

Created with a premium grade Japanese raw material and produced with 21st Century German precision engineering, this is the most advanced fluorocarbon on the market today. The ideal fluorocarbon tippet for Trout, Grayling, Salmon, Sea Trout and Saltwater anglers.

Like the 5.5x option

I've been trying to use thinner tippet for euro nymphing, but have been getting some breakoffs on 6x. We could attribute that to poor fish fighting skills, but that's beside the point if we're comparing apples to apples. (While people always mention higher strength in terms of fighting fish, it also helps increase your chance of getting out a snag without breaking.) I do fine with 5x, but prefer a faster sink rate. Along comes Fulling Mill at 5.5x and >4 lb breaking strength, problem solved as a compromise. No breakoffs this past trip, and $5 less than the TroutMaster for a 50M spool. RIO FlouroFlex is $15 for 30 yds, this is $20 for 50m, so obviously a better deal in that sense. Recommended.
