I use this rod with my nymphing rod. I really like my other Hardy reel and Devin suggested that I give this one a try. I couldn't be happier with the reels performance. Smooth drag, lightweight, and works great to balance my system. Most of all, I have had zero issues running micro-leaders down to 20' of 4x. My other reels let the line slip off the spool and into the frame, which is no good if you are fighting a larger fish (about the only time I reel the reel).
I fished this with a Vision Nymphmaniac 3wt 11’ and used Hends micro fine leader. From the moment I retrieved and got into a big Rainbow, I was impressed. It is engineered to a very high standard and has a drag that is so easy to dial in.
