Here's what Troutline has to say: "Squirrel Hybrid Dubbing is our newest dubbing, based on a mix between squirrel and hares mask. This dubbing contain approx 60% squirrel and is mixed with 40% of Transylvanian Hare mask. We wanted to obtain a nice effect: we call it salt and pepper. To obtain that we kept approx 30% squirrel dubbing in natural color. In the end we had a final product with fantastic colors and shades. We are very proud of this product and we tested for nymphs, emergers and thorax for different types of dry flies with high success. The combination between squirrel and hare, dyed and natural, gives a very nice result. The final look of a fly tied with this dubbing is very nice and buggy in the same time."
This stuff in amazing. I tried a few bags and the results were great. Super buggy and pretty easy to dub with. Using it split thread gives you a nice slow build up. I tied up some dark Sexy Walts varients with the Black Pepper color and they look pretty tasty. I'll be ordering more colors.
